An exhibition of original art work by Regent House pupils showcases in Portaferry from 7-29 June.
The ‘Transition’ exhibition, demonstrates the development in the pupils’ artistic learning process and will display both 2-dimensional and 3-dimensional artwork, including paintings, drawings, textiles and sculptures.
The exhibition is part of Ards Borough Council’s ‘Art in the Loft’ series of exhibitions in the Loft Gallery of Portaferry Visitor Centre which showcases some of the best of Northern Ireland’s creative talent during the summer months.
Heather Parker, Craft Development Officer for Ards Borough Council is looking forward to the exhibition: “This lively exhibition of mixed pieces captures the transition of the pupil’s artistic development. Each piece tells a bit of the story of this journey, and what they have discovered along the way. I would fully encourage members of the public to take the time to come along and view this colourful and creative show.”
Mrs Grace McCullough, Head of the Art Department at Regent House said: “The Art and Design department at Regent House School in Newtownards aims to provide a wide variety of creative and expressive experiences for its pupils. The aim is to encourage creativity, independent thinking, and an enquiring mind. Art and Design provides pupils with unique ways of expressing feelings and ideas about the world they live in.”
The ‘Transition’ exhibition opens in The Loft Gallery, Portaferry Visitor Information Centre, on 7 June 2014 and runs until 29 June 2014.
Admission is free. For more information on this exhibition and the ‘Art in the Loft’ series visit ardscreates.com or contact Portaferry Visitor Information Centre on 028 42729882.
