Downpatrick, Rowallene and Slieve Croob District Electoral Area (DEA) Forums have joined forces to welcome Big Lottery advisors to have informal discussions with community groups on potential projects and view those that have been successfully funded.
The event will be held in The Market House, Ballynahinch on Thursday, 20 September 2018, from 11am to 8pm.
Newry Mourne and Down District Council Chairman, Councillor Mark Murnin said: “I am delighted that the Big Lottery is coming to Ballynahinch to help local community groups find out about, and make, successful Big Lottery applications. This is an opportunity not to be missed—there are grants available for both small and large projects and the Council is keen that our groups take advantage of everything on offer.
“With places limited and booking essential, I would urge all groups to book ahead and secure their slot.”
Every year the Big Lottery Fund provides millions of pounds of funding opportunities for health, education environment and charitable projects. They will be offering groups a 30 minute one-to-one meeting with advisors to discuss possible projects.
There are a number of grants available through the Big Lottery such as £300-£10,000 under Awards for All available, £30,000 and £500,000 under People and Communities and larger grants of 330,000 and £500,000 under their Empowering Young People programme.
