Howell Welcomes DfI Road Safety Improvements Near Castlewellan

Howell Welcomes DFI Move On Pavement Clearing.
Sinn Féin Slieve Croob Cllr Roisin Howell has this week welcomed news that the DFI intend on clearing a very dangerous footpath along the Dublin Road of Castlewellan.
Cllr Howell said: “This is much-welcomed news from the Department for Infrastructure. I had raised my concerns with the Department due to many patches of the footpath being covered by fallen leaves, grass, and in some places overgrown trees.
“This had forced many pedestrians including many school children to walk on the road itself which was very worrying considering this is a main road with fast moving traffic which is constantly extremely busy.
xa0″The Department has agreed to carry out work to clear this pathway and I will be looking to make sure it is made as safe as possible.”
Cllr Roisin Howell delighted at improvements on safety on the Castlewellan-Newry Road.
