Three Roman Catholic priests in the Diocese of Down and Connor have created their own podcast called ‘Home from Rome’.
Ben King from Castlewellan who is set to begin his vocational training for the priesthood later this year, in writing for Down News, said: “The three priests involved in the ‘Home from Rome’ podcast are Fr Dominic McGrattan, originally from Portaferry is based in St. Bridget’s parish.
“Fr Conor McGrath, served in Carryduff parish and is based in Glenravel parish, and Fr Damian is based in Ballymoney Parish.
“The three priests have shared their experiences of seminary life in the eternal city of Rome, where they studied together for a year and more.
“The Irish college in Rome stands today as the seminary for those training to be Irish Catholic priests, which is where they first formed their friendship as seminarians.
“The new podcasts reach out to a wide digital audience. The podcasts share a little about the journey they have been on and the events that have incurred in their life in ministry.
“Recently, they touched on some marvels of holiness by which many people in the voluntary sector have shown both in Rome and at home and across Ireland.
“They talk about topics of faith in the Catholic calendar, such as the recent Corpus Christi processions, which they delight in telling their audience. And the three also bring along special guests which they host.
“They hope to enrich many people of all faiths and non to understand the life they have been called to and share with everyone the joyful experiences that ministry has brought them.
“And they also have proven successful in being able to keep listeners engaged in their humorous personality whilst enjoying an Italian cappuccino they were so fond of in Rome.
” ‘The Home from Rome‘ podcasts can be found online and on Facebook for those who would like to listen.”
