Charity Set up in Honour of Bryan Magill

Road safety is a major challenge locally which holds a special place in the hearts of many people in Newry writes Kevin McAteer.

Bryan Magill was from Derrybeg in Newry and tragically lost his life in February this year in a road traffic collision.

The Bru Charity was set up by Bryans father Joey in memory of his son. It is run in conjunction with Road Safe NI Newry Mourne and Down with the aim to raise awareness on the crucial issue of road safety.

The late Bryan Magill.

Joey Magill is a member of the Newry darts league committee which has been extremely supportive in their effort to raise much needed funds for such an important issue.

The Newry darts league have indicated that they will hold social events (when the timing is right) and hold fundraisers to ensure that any money raised stays in the local area.

Flanked with incredible support by the families of Kevin Heaney, Mary and Kevin Faxton and those from the Paulie Project, the Bru Charity is set to be a massive success.

No doubt Bryan who was an incredibly popular young man would have immense pride in his father for his incredible efforts to increase awareness on such an important issue.
