Strangford MP Jim Shannon MP speaking hearing of the latest robbery in Ards has warned home owners and work men alike to be mindful of the security and safety of their tools and valuable items.
He said: This Robbery in Ballyhalbert is the latest in a spate of robberies which seem to be aimed at work men and their tools, and I sincerely believe that there is a market for these stolen goods that is encouraging people to come to sites and chance their arms.
“The type of people that are stealing these cars are those who will attack if stopped or provoked and I am urging people to take extra precautions to ensure that goods are not left out and in view.
“I would like to thank those vigilant members of the public who quickly contacted the PSNI and probably prevented others from having their tools and other possessions stolen.
“If you see anything suspicious, please do contact the PSNI and be careful for your safety of these criminal elements.”
