Santa is coming to Saintfield!
Santa will be at the Saintfield Christmas Fair on Friday 4 December and will be arriving in his sleigh pulled by two of his reindeer.
He will switch on the Christmas lights outside the Orange Hall on Main Street at 7.00pm and will then be available to pose for photos with his reindeer and the children for a small fee. After that he will stroll along the street distributing sweets to the kiddies.
Brian Gamble, Organiser for the Saintfield Development Association, said: “The fair will be held along the full length of Main Street from 6.30pm to 9.00pm, so the road will be closed to vehicular traffic from 6.00pm until 9.30pm to provide a safe environment for all the family.

“Attractions for the kiddies will include the ever popular miniature railway and the roundabout. There will also be a giant slide and the popular ‘Last Man Standing’ game. A street entertainer will also be there to entertain the crowd.
“All the children’s attractions are free, thanks to donations from local traders and businesses, together with the profits from the Saintfield Development Association fund raising activities during the year.
“Choral groups from local schools will be performing Christmas songs and carols during the evening to get families into the festive spirit.
“Many of the local traders will remain open for late night shopping and there will be numerous stalls along the street to tempt you with a variety of wares, as well as vendors with food and drinks to satisfy the hungry and thirsty.”
Brian Gamble added: “The SDA has put in a great deal of time and effort to make this year’s fair bigger and better than ever, so bring the whole family along to enjoy the village’s largest community event.”
