Police Investigate Nightime Explosion Near Home in Carrowdore

dn_screenPolice are investigating damage to a property in the Main Street area of Carrowdore.

A loud bang was reported at the rear of the house of a couple in their sixties at around 3.20am and damage was caused to windows, an oil tank and the rear door. There were no reports of any injuries to the occupants of the house and the scene is currently being held by officers as the circumstances and a motive for this incident are investigated.

Detective Sergeant Sharon Little has appealed to anyone with any information to contact detectives in Downpatrick on 101.

Information can also be given anonymously through the independent charity Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111.
