The Sandrunners Return To Down Arts Centre
Local band ‘The Sandrunners’ will perform at Down Arts Centre in Downpatrick on Friday 23 June.
After releasing their debut EP, ‘Angel of the Northern Wind’ in 2014 and their first album ‘The King of the Screen’ in 2016, the band has played a number of local festivals, including the Belfast Nashville Songwriters Festival and SunflowerFest.
This multi-talented group is made up of John McLaverty (guitar, ukulele, vocals), David McCann (guitar, ukulele, vocals), Ryan Lynch (mandolin, backing vocals), Mark Johnston (drums, percussion, backing vocals), Gary Arnold (accordion) and Peter Doherty (double bass, backing vocals).
The performance starts at 8pm. Tickets are available at the Box Office, priced £12/£10 concession.
Celebrate August Craft Month at Down Arts Centre with ‘Seven Shades’.
In celebration of August craft month, the exhibition ‘Seven Shades’ will explore the durability and delicacy of porcelain and bone china.
‘Seven Shades’ is a new group exhibition of porcelain ceramics by seven Northern Irish artists; Aine McKenna, Anne Butler, Felicity Straker Graham, Peter Surginor, Rebecca Killen, Sasha McVey and Wendy Ward.
The exhibition opens in Down Arts Centre’s Main Gallery on Thursday 3 August at 7pm and is open to the public until Saturday 26 August.
