SHANES CASTLE GAME FAIR GETS ‘JOUST’ THE NEWS THEY WANTED FOR THE BIG EVENT !

The Great Game Fairs of Ireland have confirmed that the world famous Knights of the North from the borders of England and Scotland will be at Shanes Castle Game Fair, Antrim on 24th and 25th June to showcase their world famous medieval combat skills.

Making the announcement today from historic Shanes Castle, Fair Director Albert Titterington said he was thrilled that the international team of jousting and medieval combat experts will now be among the acts to headline at Shanes Castle Game Fair.

The Knights of the North (Les Amis d’anon) do battle with lances at Shanes Castle last year.

Albert Titterington said: “We are absolutely delighted that Scotland’s Knights of the North will be displaying astounding skills when they gallup to do battle in full armour in the Main Arena at Shanes Castle Game Fair.

“This really is the icing on the cake as far as we are concerned. The Knights of the North have carved an enviable reputation for their thrilling shows, which are action packed with jousting and hand to hand combat with sword and dagger.

“Their thrills and spills will add significantly to our jam packed day long entertainment programme and are sure to be a real ‘must see’ for budding action heroes of any age. What’s more, the audience will be able to get up close and personal with the Knights of the North at their encampment on site.”

Albert Titterington also confirmed that this year there would be not one but two actioned packed arenas with a host of attractions running daily from 10.00-6.00pm and added that there would also be a Living History Village, featuring a Battle of Antrim re-enactment and the encampment would include Grunal Moneta, the facsimile coin maker to the British Museum, who will help children strike their own medieval coins.
