THERE has been a spate of Christmas holiday robberies across down district from Ballynahinch, Crossgar, Castlewellan and Ardglass.
Police in Downpatrick are appealing for information on stolen plant machinery.
A yellow coloured JCB Forklift/Telescopic Handler valued at £15,000 was stolen from a business on Dromore Street, Ballynahinch between 4pm on December 20 and 7.30pm the next morning.
If any member of the public noticed anything suspicious during these hours they should contact the Downpatrick police.
There was a creeper burglary in the Crossgar area and police are also appealing for information. A white Audi A3 was taken from a house on Church Road sometime between 22-23 December.
Anyone who saw a car like that driving in that area on those dates is asked to contact Downpatrick police on 0845 600 8000 or Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111.
And on Christmas morning there was a robbery at a shop in Kildare Street in Ardglass where a small sum of cash was taken. The thieves gained entry to the premises by removing the front shop window.
Detectives are also appealing for information on a cigarette burglary in Castlewellan. It happened at the Fresh Food Centre on Main Street on 6 December. Around £3000 worth of tobacco products was taken.
