Martin Clarke followed Ed Magee saying, “I would just like to say it is excellent to see such a good bunch here tonight. You are a credit to your club and your parents for sticking with the game and making your club proud of you. If you want to get better in the game you need to listen to your coaches, enjoy the friendships that you make in the sport, and train hard. The game can be tough at times but you have to train to meet this. Many of you enjoy the Go Games which are a superb way for young people to get into Gaelic sports and the top players all enjoy getting out there with you young players and helping you along. I know Danny Hughes was with you last year. “This may be a small club but it is well supported, and it is a pleasure to hand out the trophies here tonight. I would just like too to wish young Michael Magee every success in the Down panel in the match against St Mary’s in the McKenna Cup which is on tomorrow (Sunday, 8th January) at Pairc Esler. I am looking forward now to the Championship games again this year and hopefully we will bring the Sam Maquire home to down this year. The support we had last year was just great.” Ardglass GAC chairman Paul O’Shea wished Martin every success for the Down team this coming season and Martin then signed autograph’s and joined in photographs with the young club members, including Cathy Curran who is still blushing!!
