Long Arm Of The Law Reaches From Newcastle To Belfast

Three men have been arrested following a burglary in Newcastle.

dn_screenPolice in Belfast saw a car being driven erratically in North Belfast on the evening of Wednesday 8 April, the same evening of the burglary.

Just before 9.45pm, police noticed the car driving dangerously on the West Circular Road, close to the Ballygomartin Road junction. A brief police pursuit ensued but the car got away. The car was later seen, at approximately 10.25pm, in the Oldpark Road area where it was brought to a stop and the three men were arrested.

The car struck two other cars while it was in transit and damaged them. It is also believed that the three men were involved in a burglary that occurred in the Burrendale Park Road area of Newcastle earlier in the evening.

Inspector Alan Swann said: “Two men aged 27 and 19 were arrested on suspicion of burglary and allowing themselves to be carried, while a 29 year old man was arrested on suspicion of numerous offences including burglary, driving when unfit, dangerous driving and criminal damage. All three currently remain in custody assisting police with their enquiries.”
