Economy Minister Simon Hamilton MLA has welcomed the latest figures from the Northern Ireland Business Register and Employment Survey which show an increase in employee jobs.
Figures published today showed the number of employee jobs in Northern Ireland as at 7 September 2015 was 728,932 – an increase of 7,749 jobs (1.1%) since September 2014.
Commenting on the publication the Minister said: “One of my top priorities is to create more and better jobs for the people of Northern Ireland. Therefore, I have been encouraged by the continuing signs of improvement in economic conditions in Northern Ireland which has been particularly evident in our labour market. I welcome this latest increase in employee jobs, especially as this increase has been driven by growth in private sector employee jobs in the services, manufacturing and construction industries.
“Invest Northern Ireland continues to work closely with all Council areas, helping them to develop local investment and community plans to support attracting investment to individual areas.
“It is my priority to continue to grow a globally competitive economy, capitalising on our many strengths to propel our region forward. I am confident that by continuing to work in partnership, with local government and industry that we will continue to transform our economy”.
