On the night we had the Dufferin Arms from Killyleagh helping run the bar and Doc’s food trainer serving up hot food late into the evening.

Martin Hanna added: “it really was an all round friendly effort and we are delighted that we have exceeded our goals. We are just delighted with the final result. Everyone has a great night and even the weather was perfect.”

Performing on the evening with Bap Kennedy and the Breadliners were, Rosetta Stone still as brilliant as ever, and up and coming band Petty Youth, along with Ciaran McElhinney, Damien Hanna, the Barry McGivern Band, Pretty Tied Up, Lipstick Lizards and The Couth.

Councillor Colin McGrath said: “This was a wonderful event that raised lots of money for a worthy cause. Full credit to organisers Martin Hanna, Conor Galbraith and their band of helpers and volunteers. They really showed the best of Down District – stepping up to the mark when the community needs assistance.

“Delamont Country Park provided a fantastic setting and more events should be staged at this venue.

“Suicide has touched the lives of many in the area and I hope that some comfort can be derived from the work of the community coming together to try and prevent further cases.”
