South Down MLA Karen McKevitt has congratulated the Down Camogie team on becoming All-Ireland Premier Junior Camogie champions.
Ms McKevitt said:xa0“I’m delighted to be able to offer my warm congratulations to the Down camogie team on a stunning display at Croke Park today that saw them crowned All-Ireland premier junior champions.
“The girls fought their way to a fantastic four point victory over Laois to take the title in great style. They’ve done themselves and their county proud today. My heart just swelled with pride seeing local girl Niamh Mallon lead the team out and eventually lift the cup in celebration.
“Like so many others I can’t wait to welcome the girls home and congratulate them in person on their fantastic achievements.”
