GRAINNE Duffy, the ‘Irish blues singer with a strong pop-soul sensibility’ (The Independent), will make a welcome return to entertain audiences at Down Arts Centre on Friday 8 November at 8pm.
In the last year Grainne Duffy has released her new album, Test of Time, to a wonderful reception from the press and fans worldwide alike. She has broadened her musical scope with this, her second album, and she has brought some wonderful new material with it.  Still pioneering her first love, the blues, she has also found a voice in writing and playing in styles ranging from pop, soul and rock alike.
Described by The Sunday Times as ‘A blues singer of real integrity’ and by Classic Rock Magazine as combining ‘classic hooks, high cheekbones and a bad-girl voice box’, Grainne’s live show is still as dynam

A regular touring unit at home in Ireland and across the UK and abroad, this stellar band comes alive in front of a live audience. They are a regular on the club and festival circuit and recently Grainne was asked to open for Jools Holland on his tour. She and the band graced the stage for three rapturous nights and received an outstanding welcome from Jools’ audience.
Who knows what the future holds for Grainne Duffy, but with her great band, her stunning repertoire of wide ranging songs and her unique gift of live performance, this is most certainly a star on the rise.
