ON a farm close to Mayobridge a substantial fuel laundering site has been discovered.
Officers from HM Revenue and Customs carried out a planned raid on the area.
A 61-year old man has been arrested in connection with the incident. It is thought that the site had been running for at least a year.
This operation was described as a very well technically developed fuel laundering scheme. 25 litre drums loaded were ready for shipping as opposed to a bulk  container of the liquid fuel.  It is also suspected that the fuel could have been exported to other parts of the UK.
The officers also seized a 40-feet lorry trailer with a 20,000 litre tank that was thought to be transporting fuel so that it could be laundered.
