A spokesperson for Volunteer Now said: “We have launched our new website at the beginning of January so I am offering my assistance to all organisations who want help to log in and get their volunteer opportunities and events up onto the platform.
“The dates and venues are below. It would be a huge help if you could let your contacts know that they can call in and I will get them up and running.
Mon 27th Jan 10:30 – 12:30 Newcastle Library
Mon 27th Jan 2pm – 3:30pm Ballynahinch Library
Thurs 30th Jan 10am – 12pm Ballymote Centre, Downpatrick
“Volunteer Now are holding a drop in sessions next week for local volunteer-led organisations to help them register and log in to the new Volunteer Now online platform.
“The organisation has launched a new on-line system on their website to make it easier to find suitable volunteering opportunities.
“For the past few months, they have been listening to their member organisations about some challenges they are facing working with volunteers. Sometimes it can be difficult to recruit or retain volunteers or manage them effectively.
“This pioneering system, a first in the UK, will help to strengthen volunteering throughout Northern Ireland and will facilitate how organisations promote and manage their volunteering opportunities as well as offering a great new facility for volunteers.
“Volunteer Now believe that as crucial as it is to keep the personal touch with volunteers, it is equally important to bring community innovation to the voluntary sector. This system will enable all of us to spend more time with the people that matter the most…The Volunteers!“
So call in and chat to your local volunteer support officer who will help you get up and running.
