Killyleagh And District Family History Society Gives Talk

Ken Tait, Secretary of the Killyleagh and District Family History Society. has announced that the February meeting of the group is to be held on Monday 3rd February at the usual venue, Killyleagh Masonic Hall, 50, High Street, Killyleagh, at 8pm.

He said: “The Guest speaker is Dr.xa0William Roulston, Research Director of the Ulster Historical Foundation, talking aboutxa018th Century Sources for Family History Research” .

“Genealogy has taken a leap forward in recent times, spurred in part by a plethora of television series such as “Who Do You Think You Are?” and others, quite a few of which are sponsored by one of the leading DNA testing companies.

“William’s talk will illustrate the importance of the traditional souces for family history research, which are complimented and quite often corroborated by DNA test results and subsequent matches detected.

“Everyone is welcome.”
