SOUTH Down MLA Caitriona Ruane (Sinn Féin) has called on the Rivers Agency to resolve the flooding problem in Greencastle before it occurs again.
Ms Ruane said: “Sinn Féin has held meetings with the residents and rivers agency in order to resolve the flooding problem yet I am not confident that the problem has been resolved. “As the weather improves there is a tendency to put issues like flooding on the back burner but I am determined to keep it on the agenda until it is rectified. “Sinn Féin Councillor Sean Doran has also been working with the local residents, Water Service and council to have the situation resolved to no avail. “Residents deserve to be able to live their lives free from the stress that when there is heavy rain that their homes may flood. “I have now written to the Minister Michelle O’Neill in order to ensure that there is an urgency placed upon rectifying the problem once and for all.”]]>
