Aughlisnafin GAC will host the annual Santa Sunday this Sunday at 2.00 pm in Aughlisnafin Hall. There will also be a Craft Fair from 1 to 5 pm and tables are available for £10. Please email secretary.aughlisnafin.down@gaa.ie or contact 07833 912 550 to book tables.
Down County/Club £120 draw tickets are currently on sale. They can be purchased in one lump sum or by £10 per month direct debit. Closing date for the direct debit option is 5th January. Tickets are available from the club’s ticket sales co-ordinator Sheenagh Flanagan or any member of the committee. Those who take a ticket will have a £20 credit towards whatever type of membership they take up for the 2015 season.
All underage coaching and training has finished until the New Year.
There will be a meeting of the Coaching & Games sub-committee in early January where mentors of all underage teams will be appointed for the coming season. The club are pleased to report that five more volunteers will be taking the GAA Foundation Coaching Award in the new year with a view to helping out with our underage teams.
The underage teams have made massive progress in recent years and due to increasing numbers we welcome more volunteers to join our sub-committee. We need help with many roles within the Club Coaching structure to oversee administration, schools liaison, assistance at training & matches by supervising or helping with transport, fundraising etc. You may not want to coach but you may be able to help in many other ways. Please contact C & G Officer Gerard Lenaghan (0785 426 2858) if you would like to volunteer to help out.
Membership renewals / registrations for the underage players will be held on Thursday 22nd January at 6.30 pm in the Fin Hall. Non playing adult members should also avail of this opportunity to renew memberships. All members are reminded that only those who take up full membership before 31st March are entitled to vote at AGM or will be eligible for the ballot of All Ireland Football Final tickets in September. Lotto numbers are 7, 14, 24, 27. Maire Keown & Niall Ahern both matched 3 numbers and share £50. Jackpot £8,000.
