Could you help to brighten up Christmas for an elderly resident in Down District?
In its seventh year, the Alternative Education Provision (SEELB) are collecting donations for Christmas hampers for pensioners living in the Down District Area.
Conor Galbraith said: “We are asking you to donate items towards a pensioners Christmas hamper. Suitable donations should be non-perishable items for example: soup, tinned meat or fish, beans, gravy granules, jam, sweets, crackers, tea, coffee, drinking chocolate, bottles of Schloer, shortbread, cereal, Christmas puddings etc.
“The hampers will be donated as in previous years to clients of Good Morning Down who are older people living at home and often don’t have any relatives or other social contacts.
“Donations can be made until 12 December 2015 at the following drop off points”:
*  Alternative Education Provision – Ardmore House school, 95a Saul Street *  Deenys Chemist St Patricks Avenue *  Social Enterprise Hub (former extravision) Grove Shopping Centre *  Ballynahinch Community Services/ or perhaps library *  Ballymote Centre, Antje Otto at Volunteer Now.
“The elderly receiving the hampers will be invited to a presentation in the Patrician Youth Centre to a tea party on 15 December.”
