Alliance Requests Footpath at Railway Street to be Adopted

Councillor Patrick Clarke said: “I have received a number of complaints from residents living in Merrion Avenue about the very poor state of cleanliness of the footpath which leads directly onto Railway Street in Newcastle.” “Parts of the tarmac on the footpath needs repairing plus the entire footpath needs weeded, cleared and the footpath cleaned as well as the water gullies.” “I have reported the footpath and asked Roads Service to consider adopting the footpath so it can be added to their cleaning schedule as it is clear that it has not been maintained or cleaned for a considerable period of time.
