FANCY a Liquid Lunch with a world class soprana? On Wednesday 20th April at 12.30pm, The Cuan Guest Inn, Strangford, will host a unique performance by renowned Northern Irish Soprano, Rebekah Coffey; the final in this season’s Liquid Lunch series, brought to you by Down Arts Centre. Rebekah will be performing From Albion and Erin, a programme exploring the works by Irish and English composers, accompanied by acclaimed pianist David Quigley. The recital will feature a performance of Hamilton Harty’s ‘Ode to a Nightingale’ and selections from Elgar’s Engima Variations, followed by a light soup lunch. A graduate of Queen’s University, Belfast, and the Royal Northern College of Music, Rebekah’s musicality has won her a number of prizes including awards from The Countess of Munster Musical Trust, The Peter Moores Foundation, Doyle Carte Opera and the Lawrence Atwell Charity.  www.rebekahcoffey.com [caption id="attachment_22482" align="alignleft" width="324" caption="World class Soprana Rebekah Coffey will be performing at a Liquid Lunch in the Cuan, Strangford."][/caption] Since graduating from the RNCM, Rebekah has been working in the field of opera and has performed roles with Opera North, English Touring Opera, Opera Theatre Company, Opera 2005, Lyric Opera, Castleward Opera, Buxton Festival, the Belfast Festival at Queens, Aldeburgh Festival, Stowe Opera and Bampton Classical Opera. In September Rebekah made her Proms Debut by appearing in the Proms in the Park Celebrations with the Ulster Orchestra at Hillsborough Castle. Recent concert appearances include an evening of Gilbert and Sullivan music for BBC Radio 2 show Friday Night is Music Night.
