Once again the Seaforde Working Vintage Cub is set to roll out its rally on Saturday 3rd September 2016.
This annual day of rural celebration will be held on the form of the Martin family on the Dundrum Road just outside the village of Clough.
Michael McKibbin, Rally chairman said: “This year our three is Fordson and Ford from the early years on, in addition to all types of agricultural equipment, implements and artefacts. Of course, no show would be complete without the classic/vintage car exhibitions which has increasing numbers every year.
“As in previous years, our celebration day will include working demonstrations with threshing, vintage tractor and classic car displays, and stationery engines. And we are planning on having an area set aside for harvesting on the day, so all the ‘older’ enthusiasts with harvesting equipment can get hands on on the day. They will all be very welcome.
“And there will be an area for ploughing with the genuine ‘two score ploughs’. We c an’t forget about the children and they will have plenty of entertainments on the day to keep them happy with bouncy castles. slides, face painting and lots of others fun events including a sweetie treasure hunt.
“On the day there will be lots of side stalls and auto stalls etc for the visitors to browse over. We will also have our oats harvested weather permitting and this will be an opportunity for the threshing demonstration.”
Michael explained that the Celebration Day starts at 11am on Saturday 3rd September and that the event will be well signposted throughout the wider area.
He said: “This year we have chosen Daisy Lodge in Newcastle as our official charity. The Cancer Fund For Children provides support for children up to adults under 24-years old who suffer from cancer and to their families. Each week in Northern Ireland alone three people between the ages of 0 and 24 are diagnosed with cancer.
“Daisy Lodge provides therapeutic short breaks for the sufferers and their families, and as always we urge everyone to support this charity and donate to this worthwhile cause.
“We thank all our supporters of the Seaforde Working Vintage Rally over the years and look forward to an excellent day on the Dundrum Road, hopefully with the sun shining.”
