UKIP Down District representative Alan Lewis has called on the DRD Roads Service to carry out necessary repairs on a bridge between the Lisburn Street car park and Church View Ballynahinch.
He said: “I received a call from Dawn porter who had fallen while crossing the bridge. She had tripped on a loose panel and received bruising to her face. I then subseqently visited the area last week and met with Dawn.
“I was informed a number of locals have also tripped on the bridge. On inspection I noticed a number of panels have became loose and making the bridge unfit for purpose. I
“have contacted Roads Service requesting that the bridge be inspected and necessary repairs carried out. I believe a bitmac surface would be more suitable than the current screwed down panels.”
