The Down Arts Centre in Downpatrick has a great line up of live events this October, including five fantastic live music performances.

And back by popular demand are The 4 of Us on Saturday 3 October at 8pm.
A Little (Jazz) Night Music is a tribute to the music of the Academy Award-winning Broadway composer and lyricist Stephen Sondheim, by celebrated Irish singer Stella Bass and her band. Stella will celebrate Sondheim’s 85th year with a concert of his most popular songs, with a jazz twist. Featuring wonderful new arrangements, the programme includes Sondheim’s best-loved songs, bridging the worlds of musicals and jazz.

Two of his own musicals, Sweeney Todd and the recent Into the Woods have been adapted for the big screen, and in this new show, Sondheim’s music, including iconic songs such as Send in the Clowns, Losing My Mind and the Oscar-winning Sooner or Later, are adapted beautifully with new jazz arrangements.
On the heels of a sell-out show and rave reviews from the audience at DAC in November last year, Down Arts Centre are delighted to welcome back The 4 of Us with their critically acclaimed acoustic show on Saturday 3 October. The gig will show-case songs from their brand new album, as well as songs from their extensive back catalogue.
From their first anthem, Mary, still a radio favourite, through to the UK-charting She Hits Me, to Sunlight, the band has notched up over two decades of radio hits and six top-20 charting albums. Don’t miss this rare chance to catch them live.
Newry, Mourne and Down District Council Chairperson, Naomi Bailie said: “The exciting line-up of performances this month and across the new season demonstrates that the quality of live events at Down Arts Centre is second to none. The music this weekend represents great value and a fantastic night out for locals and visitors alike.”
