Local Schools Take Part in BBC Newsline’s Festive Line-up
Three local schools from across Northern Ireland will be helping BBC Newsline viewers get in the festive spirit in the run up to Christmas.
In a tradition that started on the programme more than 10 years ago, pupils from the schools will be singing carols on BBC Newsline’s 6.30pm programme on BBC One Northern Ireland over three evenings in the run up to Christmas starting on Thursday, December 19.
The three schools taking part this year are St. Joseph’s Primary School, Strangford along with Newtownstewart Model Primary School, and Foyle View School in Londonderry.
BBC Newsline cameras will record St. Joseph’s Primary School, Strangford on Friday, December 20.
Damien Magee, the Editor of Television News, said: “The carol singing on the programme each Christmas has become a real tradition for us on BBC Newsline and I hope it brings a bit of festive cheer to viewers. It’s a real sign that Christmas is upon us.
“Once again, we’d like to thank the schools for taking the time to help us out. We’re looking forward to seeing them on the programme and we hope they enjoyed the experience. And we would like to wish them, and all our BBC Newsline viewers, a very happy Christmas.”
