Nominate Now For The Newry Mourne and Down Sports Awards 2022
It’s time to nominate local sports people for the sports’ awards run by Newry Mourne and Down District Council in association with the Sports Association Newry.
Down and South Armagh (SANDSA) are delighted to announce the launch of their sports’ awards to celebrate the remarkable achievements of our local sporting community.
With so many exceptional successes racked up by sporting stars across the district, competition will be notable for the 9 awards on offer as we recognise the amazing accomplishments of our local stars throughout 2022.
The awards will also pay tribute to the efforts of our coaches, volunteers, mentors, teachers and parents who help make Newry Mourne and Down District Council a healthy and active district.
The Sports Awards Categories:
- Junior Club Team of the Year 2022
- Senior Club Team of the Year 2022
- Sportsperson/Team of the Year with a Disability 2022
- Young Sport Volunteer of the Year 2022
- Senior Sport Volunteer of the Year 2022
- Young Club Coach of the Year 2022
- Senior Club Coach of the year 2022
- Junior Sportsperson of the Year 2022
- Senior Sportsperson of the Year 2022
Speaking at the launch, Chairman Michael Savage said: “The Council will continue to support the sporting communities of the district.
“This will empower and enable sports clubs to develop and deliver sporting experiences so that our citizens can Be Active, from grass roots to high performance.
“The Council want to acknowledge the high level of sporting performance and achievements of our local sporting stars.”
On Thursday 9 March 2023, the NMD Sports Awards 2022 will celebrate individuals and teams who have made an outstanding contribution to sport in our district in the Canal Court Hotel, Newry.
The prestigious awards are open to nominations from all sports clubs, local organisations or sports fans within our district.
