The South Eastern HSC Trust has welcomed a significant change in the delivery of the sexual and reproductive health clinic service.
Currently a sexual health clinic was being delivered from the Downe Hospital.
The South Eastern HSC Trust is delighted to announce that the Sexual and Reproductive Health Clinic Service, which has historically been delivered by the Belfast Trust, is being transferred to the South Eastern HSC Trust Sexual and Reproductive Health Team, to deliver services in the Trust area.
Sexual and Reproductive Health Clinics (formerly family planning), are a free and confidential service offering a range of contraceptive methods and advice about family planning and sexual health.
The new service officially launches on Monday 19 October 2020 with a new central phone number (028) 9041 3796, the telephone line will be open every Monday, Tuesday, Thursday and Friday from 9.00am – 12.30pm. When you telephone you will speak to a member of the team who will arrange an appointment for you if required.
Please note that due to COVID-19 restrictions this is a telephone only appointment service, there is no walk in clinic available. If you are required to come to the clinic after a telephone consultation you will be given a specific date and time to attend.
Emma McCall, Sexual and Reproductive Health Nurse said: “We are excited to offer this new service to our patients and hope that by providing telephone consultations, this will enable them to have improved access to contraception.
“They will be offered timely face-to-face appointments for emergency contraception and other long acting methods, such as implants and coils. A repeat prescription of pills can even be posted out to their home address.”
