Sinn Féin Councillor Willie Clarke Expresses Support For Shimna College After Fire

dn_screenNewcastle Councillor Willie Clarke (Sinn Féin) has expressed his solidarity and support with Shimna Integrated College Newcastle staff , pupils and parents as they begin the process of deep cleaning their school after a fire caused smoke damage to their premises.

He said: “The fire comes at a time when Shimna Integrated College is expanding both in terms of numbers and the development of the school estate, and contractors are on site at present constructing a new sports’ hall.

“Shimna Integrated College has been at the heart of the Newcastle community and the messages of support and offers of help have been flooding in since news of the fire became public in the early hours of this morning. xa0This is very heartening and no doubt will be a source of comfort for the Shimna Integrated College as they begin the process of getting the provision up and running again as soon as possible.”
