Primary Schools in the Ards have been taking collections for the Foodbank and other people in Ards have left food in for those in need this Christmas. These acts of generosity are a truly overwhelming show of concern for others.
Up until now, the Foodbank based at Thriving Life Church in Newtownards has helped over 4,100 people. Speaking at Westminster this week, Jim Shannon said that the reason for referral to Foodbanks are benefit changes, accounting for 30%, benefit delays 15%, income changes, 22% – these are the reasons for 67% of referrals.
“The Foodbank at Thriving Life Church does such fantastic work and the help that they provide is so important for many, especially at Christmas time – a big thank-you for all you do. God Bless all those who help at the Foodbank, all those who donated throughout the year and to those who will receive the food.”
