Recently South Eastern Regional College (SERC) hosted an evening of celebration for students who have completed their Accounting Technician Ireland (ATI) examinations.
The presentation was hosted by course tutor Colin McKerr in the Lisburn Campus. The students were each presented with a special achievement certificate by SERC Principal and Chief Executive Ken Webb, Director of Curriculum and Information, Services Dr Michael Malone and Susan Dunlop, Partner at Hanna Thompson Chartered Accountants.

SERC student Charlotte Hamilton from Crossgar did extremely well securing 13th place out of 1500 candidates in her ATI exams throughout Ireland. Student Ashleigh Harron from Dromara was the first ever to score 100 percent in the module of Integrated Accounting System (IAS).
While student Daniel Higginson from Hillsborough also scored 100 percent in the Financial Accounting module. Course Tutor Colin McKerr said: “This is a major achievement and a first ever for the College. These outstanding results prove how successful the ATI course is here at SERC.”
Ashleigh and Daniel are now both working for Hanna Thompson Chartered Accountants as Trainee Accounting Technicians using the skills and knowledge gained from the course and plan to become chartered accountants.
SERC Principal and Chief Executive Ken Webb congratulated and commended the students on their achievements. The ATI course is becoming increasingly popular with approximately 90 students studying for the qualification offering promising career prospects.
