NIIRTA Congratulates Young People On results In A-Levels The Northern Ireland Independent Retail Trade Association (NIIRTA) has congratulated young people receiving their GCSE results today and urged them to consider alternative courses to A-Levels, which the six FE local FE Colleges offer. NIIRTA Chief Executive Glyn Roberts said: “Congratulations to all those who did well today and to those who didn’t –there are many other options available. “A-Levels are not the only show in town and our six FE Colleges have a fantastic range of alternative vocational courses which can lead on to University or toward a career path. “We need to see a greater emphasis at ages 16-18 on Level 3 vocational courses, which are business friendly and build a wider skills set for an ever changing economy. “Our Retail Sector needs new entrepreneurs and decisions on courses at 16 is important to creating the next generation of small businesses”
