On Tuesday 7 June, ‘Handbag Positive’, the latest play by Donna O’Connor, co-writer of ‘A Night With George’, is opening the first night of its Northern Ireland tour at the Sean Hollywood Arts Centre, Newry at 8pm.
This hilariously funny play has some of Northern Ireland’s best known theatre personalities involved on and off stage. Produced by Joe Rae (50 Shades of Red, White and Blue), directed by Alan McKee (History of the Troubles According to my Da) and starring Alexandra Ford (Give My Head Peace) and Christina Nelson (Mistletoe and Crime), it follows the lives of two former best friends who are reunited by fate in the local A & E.
They haven’t seen each other for 30 years but are transported back to their teenage days, exchanging stories and insults, and wondering why they ever liked each other in the first place.
Full of Belfast slang and local humour, this show promises to be a laugh a minute as Attracta and Nora keep you entertained while they reminisce about characters and situations from their youth. ‘Handbag Positive’ is sure to be a hilarious night out.
Brighten up your week and get yourself a ticket from the Arts Centre Box Office, 028 3031 3180.
