And it has also been confirmed that Stuart Decodts will join Sauce Works as a key member of the sales team in the role of Sales and Marketing Executive.

Family business, Sauce Works, has a long history in the production of sauces, since the Bell family commenced production over twenty years ago. Paul Bell, Managing Director of Sauce Works Ltd said: “Although also a sauce business, Fat Frog Sauces has historically operated within the QSR (quick service restaurant) sector, therefore the acquisition complements our business as it expands Sauce Works’ customer base considerably and the additional volume will increase production.

“In addition to a wealth of new customers, we’re thrilled that Stuart Decodts is joining our sales team as Stuart’s knowledge of the sauce market will be invaluable as we further grow our business.”

Stuart Decodts, Founder of Fat Frog Sauces, added: “Being part of a larger entity will deliver more choice and value to Fat Frog customers, including the potential to develop own-brand sauces as all Sauce Works products are produced locally.

“Sauce Works is an established and respected name within the retail and foodservice sectors, and my customers will be in good hands. That’s one of the main reasons why I decided to stay on within the industry, and look forward to joining the sales team at Sauce Works, and helping to drive the business forward.”

With a portfolio of products that includes chilled and ambient sauces, a variety of mayonnaises, marinades, sachets and dressings, Sauce Works’ portfolio is growing thanks to new investment in the R&D process.

“Our intention is to upscale the Sauce Works business, and the acquisition of Fat Frog Sauces, combined with a significant investment in new equipment, demonstrates our commitment to supplying top quality, locally-produced cooked and cold sauces to the retail and hospitality sectors in NI and ROI,” explained David Bell.

(Sauce Works will be exhibiting at the upcoming trade event –  IFEX –  at the Titanic Exhibition Centre in Belfast on 8 – 10 March 2016 and can be found at stand number D12.)
