Saintfield FC Off To Slow Start But Are Hopeful For New Season

Saintfield United opened their NAFL Division 1C season with a disappointing loss away to Bloomfield on Wednesday night.
The home side were on top in the first half, but were gifted the opening goal by a loose pass in the Saints’ defensive third, allowing George Moore to loft the ball over the stranded Lewis Patmore and into the goal.
Ethan Barr had the best attempt on goal for the visitors in a lacklustre first half, and also went close to scoring in an improved second period.
But in truth, Saintfield struggled to create clear scoring chances throughout the game.
In the end, Bloomfield claimed all three points, with Saintfield aiming for a better result when they host Barn United in their next league match on Tuesday 13 August.
