Rosie Maguire Offers Free Sessions in Solution Focussed Hypnotherapy
An alternative health therapy is now available in Downpatrick based at the Down Business Centre.
Rosie Maguire has been on a journey to find her niche in life and has now discovered a new role that she is delighted with and passionate about. It is called ‘Rosie’s Space‘, writes Jim Masson.
She said: “I’ve got involved in therapeutic hynotherapy and I just love this. People sometimes don’t understand what hypnotherapy is.
“What I practice is helping your mind to learn through a trance state – this is not the same as being under hypnosis. You are fully conscious and relaxed at another level.
“You will be able to hear all I say but see yourself in a different level at the same time, and eventually at the end of the session you will come out of this state. You will be fully conscious but at another level.
“This form of hypnotherapy changes your thinking to being very positive.
“It gives your mind the lift it needs and helps you on the road to improved wellbeing. It is about changing your thinking from a state of fear to trust, and seeing that profound change take place.”
Classically, hynotherapy is a therapeutic approach using hypnosis to treat some conditions affecting a person’s wellbeing. It can be used with other treatments which may enhance the overall effect of the treatment.
Rosie added: “What I practice is a heightened state of awareness assisted by myself as a trained hypnotherapist. You will become more open to suggestion and this will impact on your wellbeing improving your health and behaviour that may have been causing issues in the past.
“I have followed the Clifton Hypnotherapy Training Model and incorporated the elements of solution focussed hypnotherapy into my work.
“Essentially the treatment is not analytic in the sense that it uncovers aspects of your past and reliving these moments, but it is forward looking.
“It is therefore not going to re-traumatise you from recalling past difficult experiences. It is about creating positive mental energy going forward and working with this.
“A session may last anything from 40 minutes to annd hour and 15 minutes. Each treatment is specific to the individuals needs.
“Conditions which I can help with, and this is not exclusive, include anxiety, depressive issues, phobias, weight loss, smoking cessation, public speaking anxiety, and exam preparation.
“Currently, I am completing my training and I am offering FREE sessions to clients to get my hours up to get through my course and finish my portfolio. I should hopefully be qualified by summer time this year.
“My work is all professionally conducted and I am cleared with Access NI, DBS, and I’m fully insured. I’m registered with the National Council of Hypnotherapy.
“Also, I’m registered with the Association for Solution Focused Hypnotherapy (ASFH).”
Rosie explained that basically her sessions can’t do any harm to the individual and will prove to be a positive experience, possibly life-changing for the better. She added that she can help release the positive forces in your mind and talk to them to help change how you approach them going forward.
“Treatments can last from 6-12 weeks with a number of appointments,” Rosie added.
“Also, I can work with neuro-diverse individuals, especially children. This solution-focussed approach shows that it can help improve anxiety levels and general mental health for those who are neuro-diverse.
“I trained when I was younger as a midwife for a year and have experience in hypno-berthing, but I decided that midwifery was not for me. But this experience was very formative and certainly caught my interest back then on my own personal journey.”
