South Down SDLP MLA Seán Rogers has met with 02 representatives in the hope of rectifying the O2 coverage issues in the Drumaness area.
Mr Rogers said: “I highlighted the concerns I received from many constituents and my party colleague Cllr Mark Murnin in respect of the very poor O2 coverage in Drumaness.
“Following my meeting, 02 had an engineer visit the affected site last Thursday afternoon. A fault was detected with some of the radio equipment, which has now been replaced.
“02 went on to advise that as of Thursday afternoon, service has been running as normal and a subsequent performance tests carried out by our networks team shows the site is carrying traffic as normal.
“However, some constituents I have spoken to are still experiencing difficulties. If you live in Drumaness and are affected by this, can you let my office know what the updated position is along with your mobile number and I will pursue this further with O2?”
Local SDLP Councillor Mark Murnin said: “This is a huge issue for local people and one that needs rectified ASAP. I want to thank Seán for doing his utmost for the people of Drumaness on this issue and would encourage those who continue to be affected to contact his office on 028 437 22443 or myself.”
