Newry Mourne and Down District Council’s Taste Junction initiative is delighted to host the first ever Twilight Market to be held in the city’s unique Variety Market at John Mitchell Place. The Twilight Market will take place on Friday 1 April from 5pm to 11pm with free entry.
Council Chairperson, Cllr Mickey Ruane, said: “This is Newry Variety Market like you’ve never seen it. There will be a wide selection of pop up restaurants, food producers, craft beers and fine wines all combined with entertaining chef demonstrations and food tastings. We will also have full bar facilities with live entertainment from the talented jazz and soul singer songwriter Katharine Timoney from Belfast.
“We have special cookery skills for children to take part in from 5pm to 7pm therefore families with kids are invited to come along earlier in the night, choose a variety of food options then relax in the central seated area.”
“As this is the celebratory Year of Food and Drink, the Twilight Market will be a showcase of our award winning local produce and vibrant restaurant sector in a landmark venue within our district.
