Red Arrows To Return to Newcastle as Part of Festival of Flight.
Newry Mourne and Down District Council is pleased to announce that the Red Arrows will be taking part in the Festival of Flight, which takes place in Newcastle, County Down on Saturday, 22 June 2019.
Speaking about the Red Arrow’s forthcoming participation in the annual event, Newry, Mourne and Down District Council Chairman, Councillor Mark Murnin said: “We are delighted that the RAF Red Arrows will be joining us this year in Newcastle as part of Festival of Flight.
“The Festival of Flight is a thrilling annual highlight of our district’s events calendar and one that has a significant impact on tourism and our local economy. We are looking forward to the opportunity to showcase all that we have to offer by providing an authentic and enjoyable visitor experience for everyone to enjoy.”
This year’s Festival of Flight will comprise an afternoon of a magnificent airborne display, complemented by events for the whole family, including an aviation centre and a food village.
Due to the Red Arrows’ ‘Western Hawk 19’ tour of North America in August and September, for the first time the Festival of Flight will be brought forward and held in June.
The Festival of Flight is the second of three Giant Adventures events for the 2019 tourist season.
