UKIP Down District representative Alan Lewis has welcomed a recent of illegal immigration raid in the seaside town of Newcastle.
xa0He said: ” The issue of illegal immigration is regularly discussed by local residents. However, xa0it does not seem to be an issue which is being effectively tackled by those politicians in a position of influence.
“I therefore welcome the Home Office’s proactive and visible approach to tackling illegal immigration in our area. xa0There are no excuses for businesses found to be employing illegal immigrants. The Home Office has made clear it is willing to work with any businesses to make them aware what checks need to be made on staff.”
