Strangford MP Jim Shannon speaking at the celebration for Portavogie Pipe Band Grade 4b during the World Championships said: “I presented them with a House of Commons copy of the EDM that was placed at Westminster on 15th September.

It says: “That this House congratulates Portavogie Pipe Band on winning grade 4b World Championships, within two and a half years of their formation, acknowledges the benefit that the band gives to the young people in the Ards and North Down District, and wishes Portavogie Pipe Band every success for the future.”

“The EDM was supported by my colleagues in the DUP and collectively we applaud their marvellous achievement and we will continue to follow their progress closely.

“At the thank-you celebration, we saw friends, family and the community come together to encourage the Pipe Band to even greater achievements. Well done and congratulations again.”
