In a quick callout response, the volunteer lifeboat crew launched at 9.05pm and were alongside the yacht at 9.15pm just off Gibb’s Island on the Quoile River, Strangford Lough.
The yacht had been refloated by the time the volunteer RNLI crew arrived at the scene.
The lifeboat crew then escorted the eight people on board the yacht back to Killyleagh Yacht Club in Strangford Lough, and returned once the yacht had been safely moored at the Yacht Club pontoons.
