Police in Newcastle are reminding the public to be vigilant of suspicious activity in their local communities following an attempted break in.
On Monday 30 November, a householder in Valentia Place noticed marks on the door of their home. It is believed an attempt was made to gain entry.
Constable Gareth Hall said: “Fortunately in this incident entry was not gained to the house however we want all residents to be vigilant. If you notice vehicles or people acting suspiciously please phone us straight away. You know your own neighbourhood best and you know what feels normal and what doesn’t.
“Please also ensure your house is secured, even when you are home. Keep an eye out for elderly or vulnerable neighbours and if you need crime prevention advice do not be afraid to contact us on 101.”
