A black Saab turned on it roof on the Strangford Road just outside Ardglass.[/caption] AT around 2pm on today Saturday (9 March) a police search was underway in the Ardglass area after a black saloon Saab crashed into a telegraph pole smashing it on the Strangford Road. The incident happened just within the 30mph zone and police were on the scene very quickly as they appear to have been looking for the vehicle.  Unmarked police cars were reported to be seen in the village. Within minutes of the crash a police helicopter was involved in the search and it hovered over the north shore area looking for the driver who fled the scene. A local resident who was quick on the scene said that the car was empty but the music was blaring and there was no sign of any occupants. The car was turned over on its roof on the Strangford Road and as yet traffic are being permitted to pass by in both directions by the police. Motorists need to be cautious rounding the bend leaving Ardglass on the Strangford Road. Of anyone has any information about this incident, please ring the Downpatrick police on 028 44 615011. ]]>
