Detectives are appealing for information and witnesses following the reports of two burglaries, in Rostrevor and Newry, on the evening of Saturday 29 June.
Detective Constable Kenny said: “The first incident took place at sheltered accommodation in the Church Road area of Rostrevor. It was reported that entry was gained to the premises at some stage between 8pm and 8.30pm on Saturday.
“A second burglary was reported to have taken place shortly afterwards, between 9pm and 9.30pm on Saturday, at sheltered accommodation in the Arthur Street area of Newry.
“While nothing is reported to have been taken, residents were left shaken.
“We are appealing to anyone with information or who may have witnessed any suspicious activity to get in touch. In particular, in respect of both incidents, did you see a man described as being aged in his twenties, with dark hair, approximately 5’ 6” in height, well-dressed and wearing a hat?
“Please contact detectives at Ardmore Station on 101, quoting reference number 2059 of 29/06/19 for the Rostrevor incident, and reference number 2117 of 29/06/19 for the incident in Newry.”
