Police are appealing for witnesses and information following the report of a burglary at a residential premises in the Fountain Court area of Downpatrick.
Constable Heidi Middleton said: “It was reported that at approximately 1.15pm on Thursday 16 February, a male gained entry to a residential premises in the Fountain Court area of Downpatrick through the back door of the property. He then proceeded to demand drugs from the female home-owner. As a result the intruder made off with two bags of prescription medications.
“The male was described as being of a stocky build, with a local accent and wearing a black hoodie.
“We are appealing to anyone that may have any information or to anyone that may have witnessed any suspicious activity in the Fountain Court area at the time or to anyone who has been offered similar items for sale in suspicious circumstances to contact Downpatrick Police Station on the non-emergency number 101, quoting reference 591 of the 16/02/17.
