Police in Down would like to remind the public of their non-emergency number 101.
The new number was introduced in April 2014 to simplify how the public could contact police.
Constable Natalie McNerlin said: “We changed to the 101 number for non-emergency calls some time ago to make it easier for the public to contact us. One of the biggest benefits for people in the local community is that they have an easy to remember number that they can call from anywhere in Northern Ireland at any time.
“A number of people in the local area have told us that they weren’t aware of the new number so we want to make sure that everyone knows that 101 is the number to call for police in non-emergencies. The 999 number should still be used in an emergency.”
